I break down my initial cautious optimism about his campaign to unseat the unpopular Susan Collins, and how quickly it unraveled following severe sexual assault allegations. We analyze the timeline of these allegations, from the initial anonymous reports in the New York Times to the victim finally coming forward with corroborating text messages and therapy notes.

We also dive into the political hypocrisy surrounding the fallout, specifically how MAGA Republicans—who actively support a candidate found liable for sexual abuse—are attempting to weaponize this against Democrats. Finally, we look at the strict Maine election deadlines and what this means for the Democratic Party's chances to replace Platner and still defeat Susan Collins in November.
