In this crucial episode, I unpack the chilling apprehension of a 19-year-old white supremacist who plotted to attack a Hindu temple in Aurora, Illinois, with the explicit intent to kill as many Hindus as possible. But how does a troubled teenager become radicalized with such specific hatred? I break down the dangerous pipeline between this thwarted terror attack and the virulent anti-Indian, anti-Hindu rhetoric being actively normalized by influencers like Sara Gonzales and Savannah Hernandez. From Gonzales’s dehumanizing, racist tropes to Hernandez’s bigoted fear-mongering about demographic shifts in Frisco, Texas, I expose how online hate speech fuels real-world violence. Finally, I issue a direct challenge to those within the diaspora who aid and abet these influencers to settle personal grievances over the H1B visa system.
On this channel I talk mostly about two things:
1) The perspective of an Americna (Telugu) Desi on US politics "Anna, idi America"
2) Everything Telugu – the language, literature, culture, history and film music.
