MMGL 17-Sep-2010: Censored Telugu Songs

Mohan garu/ Srinivas garu,
Your joint program on 17-Sep-10 was nice.
Srinivas garu has a very good voice, and his passion for movies was quite obvious in his talk.

Actually, this type of editing of film songs did not happen in 1970s only.
I could recall another undue cut happened to a wonderful song of AtrEya of 1960s.
The movie is Adurthi Subbarao, ‘Dagudu Mootalu’, and the song is:
‘aDagaka iccina manaSe muddu, andi andamaE muddu’

In one of the charanam AtrEya went far heights and said:
‘nuvvu nEnu mudduku muddu’

It looks in those days Censor felt bad about this ‘mudduku muddu’, which is really ignorance of the then Censor board, than able to appreciate Atreya’s imagination that: ‘we yearn for kiss but kiss itself yearns for us’.

In the movie this line is overwritten by a hum.
