In this episode, we unpack the recent political smear campaign targeting Texas State Representative James Talarico and break down how disinformation spreads in Texas politics.
When James Talarico was resting at home recovering from the flu, right-wing commentators fabricated rumors linking a private flight to a mental health facility in Ohio to attack his absence. We dissect:
How deceptive phone calls and misleadingly edited audio were used to breach privacy (HIPAA concerns).
The role of social media amplifiers and political figures like Sara Gonzales and Nick Sortor in spreading false claims.
Why modern political attacks have reached an all-time low and whether this qualifies as a clear-cut case of defamation.
The overwhelming nature of political attack ads flooding Texas media and their impact on voters.
On this channel I talk mostly about two things:
1) The perspective of an Americna (Telugu) Desi on US politics "Anna, idi America"
2) Everything Telugu – the language, literature, culture, history and film music.

My Motto – Come, let's have a conversation, let's argue, or even fight within limits.
