The online narrative falsely framed a standard corporate restructuring as a targeted xenophobic assault, claiming that an "Indian CEO" fired over 3,000 Americans while simultaneously filing for 5,000 H-1B visas. I break down the absolute fiction and dangerous subliminal messaging embedded in this campaign. Not only is Asha Sharma a native-born American citizen raised in the United States, but this narrative completely ignores the operational realities of massive, profit-driven corporate entities like Microsoft to manufacture a racist "us versus them" zero-sum game.

Alongside Kiran, I look closely at the underlying mechanics of this MAGA-driven xenophobia, exploring how bad actors manipulate data and exploit surface-level identity markers to stoke cultural anxieties. By tracking how easily verifiable falsehoods are amplified into multi-million-view trends, I highlight a critical warning for the Indian diaspora: the rhetorical crosshairs are actively shifting, making media literacy and vigilance more crucial than ever.
