In this segment from the June 7th live stream, I tackle a critical question from a regular viewer and caller about the rising tide of anti-Indian racism in the US, which is continuously fueled by the propaganda of right-wing influencers like Sarah Gonzalez and Kelly Smith. The caller specifically asks how members of the diaspora should deal with this prejudice when confronted by it, whether at home, in the workplace, or in public spaces.

As our panel addresses the practical ways to handle these confrontations, fellow panelist Professor Murali brings up the idea of inviting Sarah Gonzalez onto our show for a direct discussion. I openly explain exactly why I refuse to do that. My position is clear: she is a fundamentally bad-faith actor who does not operate with an open mind. She comes purely with an agenda and a pre-packaged attack plan. I note that while I can be a highly effective communicator and debater on a good day, anyone can have an off day, and it is a mistake to risk the community's representation against a loaded deck. Ultimately, I emphasize that there is absolutely no value or point in engaging her—either by bringing her onto my show or by appearing on hers—and I break down the strategic reasons why starving these bad-faith actors of oxygen is the right approach.
