anudina dIpAvaLi (Everyday is Deepavali)

Tomorrow (Fri 05-Nov-2010) is Deepvali.

Wish All A Happy and Merry Deepavali.

I am attaching my greetings prepared in Telugu.
For the benefit of non-Telugu people, I try to translate my Telugu Lyric:

>>> anudina deepavali [everyday is deepavali]

[Apart from litting a lamp, consciously or unconsciously we do 3 tasks, namely:
– we lit another lamp with an already lit lamp
– we add oil to a lamp that is running out of oil
– we push up wick at the lit-end so that the lamp remains glowing

My Telugu lyric explores/ exposes the philosophical context behind this, as:

The way a lamp is lit with another lamp…
The way a wick is pushed up with a small stick…
The way oil is added to a lamp that is drying up…

Lighten Hearts with Heart…
Help Others with Deeds…
Lift Ohers with Spirit…

That Litght… That Deeds… That Spirit…
Doesn’t it define? Everyday Deepavali!

I am a Civil/ Transportation Systems Engineer by education, and have been in IT Industry since completing post graduation in 1985. As I look at holistically, I always find it hard to distinguish which is my discipline and which is not! I currently live in Sydney, Australia, and have lived in Singapore for long. I have a passion for Telugu, literature, music, history, of all, to enunciate our collective past, and wishfullly look that we understand these lessons, and create a better place for everyone to live ('vasudaika kutumbham'), a world where there are no locks and keys!
